Tramping - Trips and Courses

The agenda for the period/New Year is wide open but my interests are rock climbing, alpine exploring (perhaps extended trips to the summit and south side of the mountain), tramping including Tongariro Crossing (traditional and variations), Ngauruhoe, and MTB. If the weather is no good up top we will go low; if the weather is good on the tops that is probably where we will spend some time. I am keen to spend a few days climbing the cracks at Pehi's Bluff (1 hour west of the huts).

I have all they gear for trad rock climbing and subject to advance notice can arrange for Club gear hire for people who are keen to learn. We can top rope all routes or you can lead climb if your skill level is adequate. Learners and young folk are welcome (as long as you are self sufficient).

If the weather is really lousy we will read books or go to the hot pools!

The summer rates apply for the huts at this time of the year so the cost is modest. Grab a friend or two and come and enjoy an action packed week on the mountain.
