Tramping - Trips and Courses

Pureora Forest Park - Waitangi weekend. Thursday 5th - Sunday 8th Feb 2015.

We will be staying in self contained cabins or the campground at Pureora Village, arriving evening of Thursday 5th and leaving on Sunday 8th midday.
In this forest there are magnificent podocarps, an abundance of bird life, historic logging relics and railway cuttings. There are a variety of day walks, tramps and mountain bike trails to choose from.

The proposed plan is to do walks on the Friday and Sunday, with an option of either walking or mountain biking part of the Timber Trail on the Saturday.
One of the walks will be to include Mt Pureora for good views of Ruapehu and Lake Taupo and if there is sufficient numbers a shuttle will be organised for bikers on Saturday to enable a ride from Piripiro campsite
