Member Only Huts - Your base in the hills

As an Alpine Sports Club member, you get exclusive access to three club-owned huts year-round — from the slopes of Whakapapa to the native bush of the Waitākere Ranges. These aren't DOC huts; they're your huts.

Mt. Ruapehu Ski Huts (National Park) 

The A-Frame

The A-Frame is the heart of ASC's mountain life. Sitting right on the Whakapapa ski field, it's a warm, well-equipped lodge that sleeps a full group — and waking up to snow at the door never gets old. Available to members and their guests for skiing, snowboarding, tramping and climbing in Tongariro National Park.

The Ruapehu Hut

The Ruapehu Hut sits 50m below the A-Frame hut. It sleeps 20 and has full modern facilities including hot showers and electric heating. The Ruapehu hut provides an alternative to the A-Frame, perfect for smaller groups that want their own space. The Ruapehu hut is available to members and their guests for skiing, snowboarding, tramping and climbing in Tongariro National Park.

Waitakere Hut (Auckland) 

Just 50 minutes from downtown Auckland, the Waitākere Hut is a bush retreat that feels far more remote than it is. A 10-minute walk from the carpark through native forest brings you to a cosy base for tramping, bushcraft, social weekends, and school programs.
